Albie de Frey and Lucille Blumberg (JNB) have alerted us to a case of Marburg virus in Guinea, specifically in Tèmessadou M’boke, Koundou sub-prefecture, Guéckédou prefecture. According to various news outlets, this has been confirmed by two different laboratories. We do not yet know whether this is an isolated case or a sentinel of an outbreak. Please keep this diagnosis in mind if you have any febrile returning travelers from Guinea in the next few weeks.
