Status: Site Recruitment
The project aims to provide a detailed description of the natural history and molecular epidemiology of dengue in travelers. Further, it will map the global geographic distribution of dengue virus serotypes and genotypes associated with imported infections. By linking traveler demographics, trip characteristics, and genotypic data, the study hopes to further the understanding of the influence of clinical, epidemiological and molecular markers of risk for disease complications and other adverse outcomes. This data will in turn allow for more rational and cost-effective interventions, including health system preparedness, vector control, and vaccination.
